My name is Suely Aboody and I was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1963. Brazil, a country rich in spirituality and culture, has always been an inspiring place for me. Growing up in this vibrant environment shaped my worldview and ignited a deep sense of connection with the spiritual realm.
I graduated in Physical Education and Culinary Arts, fields that allowed me to explore both physical wellness and the art of nourishment. However, my true calling unfolded during my twenties, following the tragic loss of a family member, an event that deeply affected me. This loss marked the beginning of my spiritual journey, one that I have continued to explore ever since.
In 2009, I moved to the United States, where I continued my transformative spiritual path. During this time, I embraced a holistic approach to wellness, integrating meditation, yoga, holistic therapies, and the study of ancient civilizations into my daily life. I had the privilege of traveling to Egypt, Rome, Greece (Delphi) and Turkey, where I immersed myself in the study of remarkable cultures and philosophies.
In 2023, I had the opportunity to take a Western Reiki class in Brazil, which deepened my desire to explore this powerful healing modality further. This led me to search for a Traditional Usui Japanese Reiki course, and that’s when I met Julio Mendes and Ana Paula Barnabé, who introduced me to Gendai Reiki. My studies with them took my Reiki practice to new heights, as I began to study it on a much deeper level.
In January, I had the incredible honor of traveling to Japan to receive my Gendai Reiki Master degree. While there, I participated in three transformative events and two workshops:
The New Year Reiju Ceremony, with 210 Reiki Masters from more than 12 different countries
The New Year Koryukai, which brought together 210 masters and 24 practitioners of Gendai Reiki.
The New Year Formal Dinner, a chance to connect with fellow practitioners and celebrate the teachings of Reiki.
One of the most transformative experiences during my time in Japan was meeting Doi Sensei, the founder of Gendai Reiki, and participating in the Reijukai’s New Year Celebration—an event that beautifully mirrored the way Usui Sensei would have celebrated with his disciples.
I had the honor of connecting with 250 Reiki practitioners from over 12 countries, immersing myself in profound practice, listening to Doi Sensei’s insightful lectures, and receiving the sacred Reiju directly from him.
The following day, I had the privilege of attending the Gendai Reiki Network Master Workshop, where 74 Gendai Reiki Masters from 12 different countries came together to deepen our practice. It was an enriching experience, filled with meaningful exchanges and profound learning. I also had the opportunity to visit the Meiji Jingu Temple, where I delved into the poems of Emperor Meiji, gaining a greater understanding of his wisdom and vision.
Afterward, I traveled to Taniai, the birthplace of Usui Sensei, and meditated at the very temple where he once did. The serene atmosphere allowed me to connect deeply with the roots of Reiki. To cap off this transformative journey, I gathered with the warm and welcoming Gendai Reiki Masters in Sapporo, where I not only learned new Reiki exercises but also strengthened bonds with a supportive and vibrant Reiki community.
I am truly blessed and grateful for the profound experiences I’ve had on my spiritual journey. I am excited to announce that I now offer classes in both Florida and Brazil and invite you to join our Reiki Practice Studio in Orlando, Florida, for our monthly practice sessions. It is my joy to share this incredible practice with others, helping them to connect with the healing power of Reiki.

Olá! Meu nome é Suely Aboody. Eu nasci e cresci no Brasil, um país rico em espiritualidade e cultura. Desde cedo, fui profundamente influenciada por esse ambiente vibrante, que despertou em mim um forte senso de conexão com a espiritualidade.
Minha trajetória profissional começou com a formação em Educação Física e Gastronomia, áreas que me permitiram explorar tanto o bem-estar físico quanto a nutrição. No entanto, o verdadeiro chamado para minha jornada espiritual aconteceu após uma perda devastadora em minha família aos 26 anos. Essa tragédia se tornou o marco inicial de um caminho de autodescoberta e crescimento espiritual que sigo até hoje.
Em 2009, me mudei para os Estados Unidos, onde minha jornada espiritual continuou a se expandir. Foi nesse período que comecei a integrar práticas como meditação, yoga, terapias holísticas e o estudo de filosofia. Durante minhas viagens a lugares como o Egito, Roma, Grécia (Delfos) e Turquia, tive a oportunidade de me aprofundar no estudo de culturas e sábias filosofias antigas.
Em 2023, participei de uma aula de Reiki Ocidental no Brasil, o que aprofundou meu interesse pela cura física e espiritual. Esse foi o primeiro passo para buscar o Reiki Japonês Tradicional Usui, e foi assim que conheci Julio Mendes e Ana Paula Barnabé, que me apresentaram ao Gendai Reiki. Os cursos de Gendai Reiki me levaram a um nível mais profundo de estudo, expandindo ainda mais minha prática.
Em janeiro de 2025, tive a oportunidade de viajar para o Japão, onde recebi meu título de Mestre em Gendai Reiki. Durante minha estadia, participei de três eventos e dois workshops transformadores:
A Cerimônia Reiju de Ano Novo, com 210 Mestres de Gendai Reiki de mais de 12 países.
O Koryukai de Ano Novo, que reuniu mestres e praticantes de Gendai Reiki de várias partes do mundo, seguido por um jantar de celebração, onde tive a chance de trocar experiências com outros mestres.
Uma das experiências mais marcantes foi conhecer pessoalmente Doi Sensei, fundador do Gendai Reiki, e participar da Celebração de Ano Novo do Reijukai. Esse evento refletiu a maneira como Usui Sensei celebrava o novo ano com seus discípulos, criando um ambiente de profunda conexão e aprendizado.
Tive a honra de me conectar com 250 praticantes de Gendai Reiki de diversos países, ouvir as palestras e os ensinamentos de Doi Sensei, e receber o Reiju diretamente dele. No dia seguinte, participei do Workshop de Mestres da Gendai Reiki Networking, onde 74 Mestres de Gendai Reiki de 12 países se reuniram para aprofundar nossa prática. Foi um momento incrível de troca e aprendizado.
Também visitei o Templo Meiji Jingu, em Tokyo, onde estudei os poemas do Imperador Meiji e pude entender melhor sua sabedoria. Em Taniai, local de nascimento de Usui Sensei, meditei no templo onde ele meditava, conectando-me profundamente com as raízes do Reiki. Para concluir essa jornada, tivemos um encontro com Mestres de Gendai Reiki em Sapporo, onde, além de praticar, fortalecemos nossos laços com uma comunidade vibrante e solidária.
Hoje, sinto uma imensa gratidão por todas as experiências que vivi ao longo dessa jornada de crescimento espiritual. É com o coração cheio de alegria que compartilho com você a oportunidade de participar dos cursos de Gendai Reiki que estou oferecendo na Flórida e no Brasil.
